Dock Space To Help Provide At Least One Meal A Day To Local Families In Need
DANVERS, Mass., June 12, 2013 /CNW/ - High Liner Foods, the leading value-added frozen seafood supplier in North America, today announced a partnership with The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) to donate the use of dock space at its Peabody, MA facility. GBFB, the largest hunger-relief organization in New England with an objective to distribute enough food to provide one meal a day to those in need, is committed to increasing its food distribution in 2013. High Liner Foods’ donated dock space will be used to facilitate food deliveries in northeastern Massachusetts.

This partnership with The Greater Boston Food Bank is High Liner Foods’ latest anti-hunger initiative. In 2012, High Liner Foods donated 160,000 meals to families affected by the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
“We feel a responsibility to lead change for the better, so we are thrilled to partner with The Greater Boston Food Bank to help relieve hunger right in our own community,” said Keith Decker, President and Chief Operating Officer of High Liner Foods (USA). “We are committed to corporate responsibility, including philanthropy, sustainability, and social responsibility, and there’s nowhere better to start than in our backyard by using our docks to provide food to local families in need.”
